And the Printz Award Winner Is ...

So what's the Printz Award, anyway? It's an award the American Library Association gives to "a book that exemplifies literary excellence in young adult literature." And this year, for the first time ever, the award winner is a graphic novel! Yes, it's American Born Chinese by Gene Luen Yang. The four honor books are M. T. Anderson's The Astonishing Life of Octavian Nothing, Traitor to the Nation, Vol. 1: The Pox Party; John Green's An Abundance of Katherines; Sonya Hartnett's Surrender; and, last but not least, Markus Zusak's The Book Thief. For even more info about the award and the winners, check out the ALA webpage.
